We have our first challenge! The Pink Slipper Project will be joining hands with Terry Grahl of Enchanted makeovers.org as we offer comfort and support to the women and children at Newhouse in Kansas City, Mo. (www.newhouseshelter.org), a shelter dedicated to providing new beginnings to abused women and their children. Our challenge is a big one but one I'm sure we can meet. The girls at Make Mine Pink and Quilt 'n' Stitch Marketplace are ready to roll up their sleeves and dust off their sewing machines! Won't you help us meet this make this challenge a success?
By October 1st we need slipper for 80 women and 40 children.
How you can help:
1. Download our easy "One Seam Rag Slipper Pattern" and pledge slippers for this challenge.
2. Use your own pattern and donate slippers.
3. Donate Fabrics - fleece, wool, wool felt, flannel, batting to make slippers.
4. Donate funds to cover shipping of slippers to shelter challenges.
5. Knit, crochet slippers - slipper socks for women and children.
6. If you just can't sew - donate new women's and children's slippers.
7. Get your sewing, knitting, stitching groups involved. We have a lot of hearts and toes to warm this winter.
Together we can make a difference.
All slippers will be photographed and blogged before sending to their new home. So get creative and show everyone what you can do!

Crafting in The Hive

Hi Miranda. We don't have a crochet pattern yet but I am looking for someone to create one for the project.
I'll post here if we find a free source pattern or if we find a designer to create one.
