We've been really blessed by all of the people that have contributed to the Pink Slipper Project in 2009. For such a new organization, we had a phenomenal response. From blogging about the Pink Slipper Project, to adding our widget, (see right side of site) to joining our facebook fan page, donating supplies and last but not least, making slippers. Everything that you've done has made a huge difference in the lives of some women and children living shelters.
Unfortunately our job is far from over. There are so many women and children that are victims of domestic abuse that we couldn't even begin to reach them all, even if we were all making slippers all day every day. But we can still reach out to as many as we can possibly help. Even if you think, Oh I can't sew... that's ok! Spreading the word is just as important and donating supplies, essential to our success.
I'll be updating our list of needs soon. Since we are not an official non-profit, we are unable to accept cash donations. But we are in need of supplies, including shipping supplies. If you can help, we'd be forever grateful. Instead of sending cash or a check, please send thread, warm fabrics (like fleece, flannel, wool, felt) cotton batting, shipping boxes, tissue paper, tape, scissors etc.
Thank you for your interest in warming the hearts and toes of women and children living in shelters this winter.
If you know of a shelter that could benefit from our program, please have them write us at:
